Senior Business Analyst - HRIT (PeopleSoft)

Description:

Knowledge of HR and HR systems, particularly PeopleSoft HCM 9.0. Strong documentation skills. Performs most complex analysis and resolves difficult issues. Evaluates and implements new initiatives process/workflow improvements and program/policy changes. Provides guidance to more junior staff. May assist in coordinating business area activities or act as the lead expert in the group. Makes decisions in managers absence.
Expected Responsibilities:
Performs complex analysis and is able to resolve issues. ? The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for providing and documenting much of the analysis for various IT solutions/initiatives. ? Identify and document the business requirements and in turn create a Business Requirements Document (BRD). ? Analyze business processes and impacts to related systems and applications. Turn the analysis into requirements and in turn create a Functional Requirements Document (FRD). FRD requirements are tied to back to the BRD. ? Work closely with technical analyst and testing analyst to assist in the creation of a Technical Requirements Document (TRD). ? BRD, FRD, and TRD will all be mapped together to serve as traceability used in Testing phase and assist in creation of any Testing documentation. ? Thorough understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Basically this covers the phases of a project from Scope, Requirements, Design, Build, Test, Implementation, and Post-Implementation. ? Serve as a liaison between cross-functional groups ranging from business clients to technical team members. ? Capability to facilitate Walk-thru meetings that allows project team members to walk thru requirements as they have been gathered and documented. Walk-thrus can be scheduled as the project progresses or may be scheduled as one final walk-thru (depending on project size) before the deliverable documents are distributed for approval. ? Ensures compliance with SOX process and documentation requirements. ? Ensures compliance with Change Control requirements. ? Work with the business to define business needs and requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions; recommends solutions that are aligned with business / IT strategies and comply with corporate architectural standards ? Able to work with the business community to gather and analyze these business requirements and create functional specifications and work with the technical staff to translate these requirements/specifications into technical specifications. ? Leverages functional knowledge experience to provide solid recommendations on efficiency in problem solving ? Report to the Program Manager and Sponsors regarding task assignments, escalation of issues, and adherence to TIAA standards ? Works collaboratively with IT Project Manager regarding timelines, release management, and deliverables ? Works collaboratively with the system integrator vendor, business community, and other IT developers ? Effective listening and communication skills. Articulate wording via communication tools in a clear and concise verbiage. ? Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task on several projects simultaneously and self manage activities. ? Ability to work with diverse workforce consisting of on-shore and off-shore resources. ? Ability to work with all levels of associates from Senior Management to Entry Level Analysts and developers throughout the organization. ? Manage the business users' relationship and their expectations. ? Facilitate meetings with cross-functional groups (ie Business, IT, Technical, etc). ? Possess strong problem identification, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills. ? Effective problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve issues. ? Presentation skills. Whether that is via phone conference or in person. ? Provide status updates as needed. Looks beyond symptoms to identify causes of problems and potential trends. Develops and assists in implementing initiatives on process/workflow improvements and program/policy changes. Provides guidance to more junior staff.
Suggested Experience & Qualifications:
Over 10 years of project and/or Business experience ? Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience ? Five to eight years of business analyst experience ? Experience with PeopleSoft 9.0 implementation a plus. ? Experience collecting, analyzing, and refining business requirements ? Experience managing small to medium sized projects
